What Can (and Can't) Go in a Dumpster?

A roll-off handles the vast majority of household and construction debris — but a few things are off-limits for safety and landfill rules. Here's the quick rundown so your pickup goes smoothly. When in doubt, send us a photo and we'll tell you before you load it.

What you CAN toss

• Household junk & furniture — couches, mattresses, tables, carpet, clothes, boxes, general clutter.
• Construction & demo debris — drywall, lumber, cabinets, countertops, flooring, tile, trim, fixtures.
• Roofing — asphalt shingles, underlayment, flashing (watch the weight on big tear-offs).
• Yard & storm debris — branches, brush, fencing, and post-storm cleanup.
• Appliances — accepted, with the fee charged per appliance: $80 each for water heaters, washers, dryers, stoves and ranges, wall ovens and dishwashers; $125 each for refrigerators, freezers, AC and window units and dehumidifiers, which must also have the refrigerant (freon) professionally removed first. Small countertop appliances are free — just tell us what's going in when you book.
• Most electronics — usually okay; ask about TVs and monitors, which some facilities handle separately.

What you CAN'T put in

These are prohibited by landfill and safety rules — they can't go in any roll-off:

• Hazardous materials — paint (wet), solvents, oil, fuel, chemicals, pesticides, pool chemicals.
• Batteries and propane/gas tanks.
• Tires in a regular load — tires found in a standard rental reclassify the whole load as mixed, billed at $420/ton (double the $210/ton tire rate); we can take an all-tire load by arrangement, just ask.
• Asbestos and medical waste.
• Dirt — we don't haul dirt.
• Refrigerant appliances with the freon still in them (see above).

Most of these have free local drop-off or recycling options — ask and we'll point you to one.

Concrete & masonry (limited)

We do take concrete, brick, and block — but because it's heavy, only up to half of a 12-yard load per rental. Please tell us when you book if your load includes concrete so we can plan for the weight. We don't haul dirt. Everything else goes in a standard rental, which includes 2 tons of disposal; over that it's $90/ton pro-rated, so watch the weight on shingles and tile.
